Is there any way to read trouble codes without buying an expensive tuning program? Used to be able to get them using a paper clip in my old IROC.

Welcome LS1_BC .... you could probably get a code reader from Crappy Tire but you will pay 250-300 for that anyway so you might was well buy EFIlive or ATAP data logger.

Pin point problems the way factor mechanics do. Easy to use. Simply plug the reader into the vehicle's test connector and your car's on board computer will tell the code reader what ails it. Includes instruction manual. Fits 1996 and new vehicles with generic OBDII connector.

ITEM 46030-1VGA

$39.99

can be had from harbor freight. but if you have the money like stated invest in atap or efi.
