290 rwhp / 308 rwtq

Here's my car......

1999 Trans Am
A4 - 3.23 - MTI lid

I figured it'd be a little higher, maybe I was hoping for too much.

I'll post the graphs when I scan them.....

If it's a Mustang dyno SAE corrected, you're all good.

If it's a Dynojet dyno SAE corrected, maybe a touch low.

But overall, no worries!!

for a near-stock '99.. that sounds about right.. there's always a little variation between cars... remember that automatics lose more on the dyno through the drivetrain.. but with a good torque converter.. you'll outrace/outrun any 6speed with more HP

Doesn't look too bad actually. The lowest ls1 dyno I've seen on a dynojet was about 280RWHP with 97 Vette. Of course what really matters is track times

looks like pretty good numbers to me. Nice baseline :D

Thanks guys..... That makes me feel a little better.

It was done at MTI on the Dynojet.

But I also have to factor in that I need a tune-up and some other stuff. I'm also getting ready for my dynomouth exhaust setup.

Torque converter wil come after the exhaust. That'll be awesome!

If you're bone stock, your numbers are just about right for a Dynojet dynomometer. Most 2000 and older A4 C5s I've seen dynoed are in the 280-290 rwhp range on a Dynojet.

Perfectly within the normal range for a '99 A4 T/A with ONLY an intake lid as its sole modification.

And like someone said, dynojets vary from one another, so who's to say you couldn't get higher #'s on another. ;) Although they could go down as well... :p

Your car is doing fine man,

Mike

looks pretty normal, some of our cars dyno # vary a little but your #looks to be pretty consistant with other A4 ive seen, some cars are just freaks

Does your graph have A/F Ratio? If you're running rich that could cost you some power on the dyno.

with a 99' you might also consider some regular maintenance to squeeze a little more power out...

-plugs
-fuel filter
-gm top engine cleaner
-injector cleaner

i know when i did those, the SOTP power increased

No.... no A/F..... I've heard that 99's usually run rich. So you could be right.

The 'actual' numbers are 308 rwhp / 332 rwtq. But I think everyone goes by the SAE corrected ones...

Here's the graph.....

Actually, its not unusual for a 98-99 A4 to dyno 275-285 RWHP stock on a Dynojet. Having 290, I assume you have at least some type of mods like a different catback or a lid or something. Dont get jealous of the 01-02 guys cause with some mods you can easily be running with them. I was 279 RWHP stock, and now Im at 405.5! :D

Just a lid for now. I guess I was hoping for too much. I just need to do a little work.

405.5 is quite a ways away, but I'm on the trail. :D

Sure wish I could go with the actual numbers. LOL

Looks normal. My last run with just a lid and exhaust got 299/310 with a perfect Air Fuel. This was on my 99 a4 Z

We got there at 1:30. There was a 30th anniversary TA on the dyno. We were 3 or 4 behind the green S-10.

I had my black TA and my brother-in-law had his nbm SS

Get rid of your muffler and get a cut-out. My wife's 2000 Formula dyno'd at 326 with a lid and our patented exhaust. :D

Everything seems around normal to me. No worries :D

Those numbers do not sound to bad to me, I have a 2001 Z28, with a lid, catback, 3.73's, and Y3000 2.0 STR Torque Converter, Ported MAF ends, and AFTER an extensive dyno tune my numbers were:

287.5RWHP/348RWTQ

NOW I SHOULD REALLY BE PISSED, however as someone has previously stated, do not be hung up on numbers, it is how the vehicle performs.

JMHO
