Looking for info on the NXL system I ran into these things being released soon

The throttle body looks nice. But the metal intake I think is a waste, it will get to hot and cause overheating problems. The ls6 or LSX composit intake is the way to go and simply make your own direct port set up on them.

Cars have had metal intakes since thier inception, composit instakes are fairly new technology. Having a metal intake on an LS1 will not cause it to overheat. It will however not disapate the heat as fast as composite will.

What Got Speed said and a DP on an LS6 or standard intake tends to rip the treads or bend at odd angles being it was not designed for it... unlike the LSX or Lingenfelter intakes.

I like my Holley/Lingenfelter intake :

It does get hot to the touch, but boy was it a nice performance increase over the LS1 intake with the heads and cam. As stated above, cars have had aluminum intakes forever.
I can't recall a domestic factory motor that has even had an option for a composite intake until the LS1. You also don't hear LT1 owners complain about heat soak, heh. I don't think the air whooshing through at WOT would even heat up much at all.
You're right though, it's not a debatable topic, the composite intake obviously stays much cooler - but you can't polish it.:bling: One of these days I'll have it port matched to my heads.
Back to the topic, I dunno about the swirlie TB, kinda seems Tornado-ish to me... Looks like a nice piece though, and 85mm !
The intake looks nice - they should sell a polished one too !
Happy driving,
