Well, as long as you apply it with a machine polisher...and nice to see you over here SuperBuick. Your insight will be helpful, I'm sure.

how bad is your scratch? if it's a real scratch you will have to get some touchup paint or have a professional do it. 3m is what i start with.

Meguiars works pretty good
I use 3M Swirl Mark Remover part number 39009
I have scratch X, which is pretty decent for minor scratches.

:yup: I used mcguiars scratch X on a spot last week where a tree limb or something nailed me during the 50mph wind storm we had here. The limb (or whatever it was) was heavy enough to not only put scratchs in the rear glass, but I had to pick bark out of one of the scratchs and Mcguiars took it right out. You can only barely see it from certain corners. But you have to heat the hell out of it while rubbing for it to really work.
But, I have found that it works best on Pewter and silver. Tried it on a black truck with a minor scratch and it wouldn't do anything for it!!

Not sure if we got a good answer here...I'm going with the new NXT instead of Zaino, but need some swirl remover first. Just average swirls that you can only see at an angle, 3M or Meguir's if I'm applying by hand?

3M will give you okay results by hand, but it really shines with a dual action polisher. I can't speak for Meguiars' since I never used it. Post your question on www.autopia.org

I have some sort of polisher, but never even used it. One of the cheapies I'm sure, about a 9" orbital, so maybe that will work. Thanks.

1badmofo - Scottwax over at autopia has the best results by hand using Meguiars Dual-Action Cleaner Polish applied with a cotton towel folded into a square. Check out autopia for some of his results and shoot him a PM if you'd like some advice on doing this by hand.
Be advised, however, that you are not going to get the full results you would by machine, and it will take a lot longer. (though sometimes Scott's work makes me question my own assertion here - it's incredible)

Lowes has the 7336 - that one is almost identical to the 7424 and will do you just fine - go for it!
gotta get some pads though!
