Starting Problem

i went out to start my car today (93 Formula M6), and when i pushed the clutch in and turnedd the key nothing happened, but the security light came on, and stayed on, even when i took the key out and closed the car door, but when the light went off, the car started fine :wtf:

My guess is that the resistor in your ignition key might be messed up or the sensor that reads it. If you got a security light and no starter noise that would indicate that there is some problem reading the resistor on your key. There is a time delay that prevents any key from starting the car for a certain period of time after a 'wrong' key has been used. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, please. :)

Just wipe the resistor in the key off with a cotton ball with alcohol on it to prevent it from hapening again, it probably has pocket gunk on it.
