Does anyone know yet if the LS2 intake will be swappble on an LS1? If so, this would be a nice alternative to the more expensive Weiand and LSX intakes out there since it supposedly flows better than the LS6 intake.

That would be sweet if all of the major parts are interchangeable. :)

How about LS2 3-valve heads on your LS1? :firey: :xfings:

I'm hoping the block is interchangeable. :D

the intake is setup a couple of degrees higher. kind of the same way they did the lt4 intake and heads. so no prob not.

So then cold you possibly do a intake/heads swap just like they have for the lt1-lt4?

Rumor mill says the intake might bolt up to the C5R heads.
Wouldn't that be nice???

That would be hot, but how much are the c5r heads goign for these days? Not cheap, I'm sure.

This is the info I have found on the web...
The heads are interchangable with the LS1 platform, which would require the new Intake or machining of the LS1/6 intake..

Exactly! There will not be a big advantage to swapping the LS2 heads for the LS1 heads...for that price, you could port your existing heads and be better off anyways:)

I spoke to a friend at chevy and from what he was told Ls2 intake will be inter changable with his LS6 and I believe that makes it swappable with the LS1:cool:
even if it does you'd still need a 90mm TB, bigger lid and MAF to get the most out of it.

the LS2's heads flow as well, if not better then LS6.

Just had a thought - I wonder what the crate LS2 motor will list for $$$$ ?
...hopefully a direct bolt in into fbods and vettes, similar to the LS6...
Hmmm... :naughty:

the LS2 really isnt anything different in size to the LS1 or Gen III small block. It would drop right in, and no one would be the wiser. It would look just like an LS1.

I would like a LS2 intake, but the throttle body seems to be a problem since it is one of those drive by wire ones. Hopefully if the GTO gets the LS2 it will have a mechanical throttle linkage, that we can get the intake and throttle body and just bolt it on... if it fits in the first place.

Since the GTO is getting the LS2 next year LS2 swap into anything with LS1 should be a cake walk. The harness/PCM would be another discussion all together.
Looks like they moved the MAP sensor to the front, changed the construction of it to friction-welded 3-piece, and it has a 90mm TB opening. Also needs a way to make the fuel rails meet the injectors.
They are LS6 intakes sold with a 90mm opening, so it would appear that's the simpler option.
This is a great discussion- so I moved it to the LS2 Tech forum. ;)

it would be nice to have the 90mm intake, but I don't want to pay $500 for a damn TB to match it. I have a 85mm lid and Maf, but do they make a 90mm maf and lid to go with these upgrades, or is it going to just be for the Vette?

Seems to me the new LS2 is basically a LS6 engine bumped up to a 6.0 liter............

If you check the pictures people have been taking, the ls2 uses the exact same heads as the ls6. The casting numbers are the same. Now, if the valves are still sodium filled, I do not know, but I would "assume" they are just 100% off the shelf ls6 parts to keep costs down.

Intakes bolt on and we will ahve some billet fuel rails very soon. And possibly a install kit to get them on the F-body. The heads are LS6 castings.

Just wanted to let everyone know, that we have the LS2 fuel rails, injector o-ring kits in stock. We hope to have another batch of LS2 intakes in soon! Keep us in mind if you need a Fast 90mm tb, we have those at a fair price also!!

Excellent news! I cant wait to see the first LS2 intake kits on the new cars! Hopefully there is enough of a performance improvement to justify most of us to upgrade.

The LS2 fuel rail will hook up to your factory fuel line. The main thing you will have to do is, extend the map sensor harness. The LS2 intake is the way to go for anyone wanting to run a 90mm tb!!

the heads are basically LS6 and the 90mm tb is correct, theres an article in Chevy high performance right now about swapping LS1 and LS2 parts.

there seems to be some opinions at LStech.com that the LS2 intake with 90mm TB flows to much air for a 346-and that its only worth using for large cammed 383's and larger strokers

The latest word in is that the LS6 will flow more than the LS2, PERIOD, even on bigger cubed motors.
LS2 heads are identical to LS6 heads from all reports I've heard, also.
