Was driving in some heavy rain this weekend and both my running lights filled up with water. Changed both of the lights out twice this weekend. Thought it would be a Easy chage until I ralized that you can not get at them that easily. Luckily the dealer is going to replace both of the lenses under warranty. Anyone else had this happen?

I have the same problem, my bulbs kept burning out and one night it got kinda cold and they both burnt out the same time within like 2 days of being new. The connectors have also started to corrode so I got new bulbs and put some clear sealer around the base of the bulb and havent had a problem yet (2 months) The price for the housing is like $50/pair dealer cost so I am putting if off as long as I can.
Stupid things get a hair line crack right on the seam in the middle of the lense and some one "smart" at GM made the bulb sit in the bottom where the water collects instead of the back or top like normally.

take that bulb out and let the water drain so it doesnt cause damage to the harness. if that happens you will be FU**ED!

not really, they are easily replaced, no splicing needed ;)

Yea I totally Dried them out right away, it just pissed me off because they both burned out at the same time, I replaced them and then one of them was still soaking wet. I took the compressor and blew all the water out of the plug and left the bulbs out so the lenses could air dry. The dealer said it is under warranty and they ordered the parts for me so that is all good!

They don't get a hair line crack-they are manufactured with that slit. I also thought one of mine was cracked after my bulb blew because of rain entering the housing.
I removed the housing and examined it closely, that slit was designed into the housing. I've examined approx. 10-12 other Firebirds and every one has that approx. 0.20" slit in the face of the lense. Why this is designed this way-only GM knows.
Best thing to do is get some clear silicone or some model airplane glue and reaching in thru the bulb mouting access hole (with a long q-tip or swab) spread it evenly over the slit. This way it will be fixed and unseen from the outside of the lense.
