so i was wondering, what would the best catback be for my car? i'm looking to gain about 100 horsepower from it. and i don't know what year my car is or if it's a Firebird or Camaro. that doesn't matter though, does it?

hooker is good but will only give you about 85rwhp if you want some major power go with like greddy!!!! the exhaust itself will give you about 150rwhp and if you install the included stickers you will probably top out over 200rwhp gain!!!!

dont forget to add a wing, once you hit the 200 rwhp mark you will be able to fly.

wasnt trying to be dick bro but your not going to get 100hp out of a catback to begin with and just look at your car if its a chevrolet then its a camaro and if its a poniac then its a T/A(thats if your car is even a V8)

Good question!
I believe Split Fire cat backs (available at Auto Zone) are good for 112 RWHP. They will fit camaros, but you have to limit your tire pressure in the front to 5 psi and rear tires must be no less than 78.5 psi. This system will fit a Firebird provided that you install it during a rain storm.
The optional gold tips are worth and additional 67.43 RWHP. These will require the waser fluid reservoir to be cut in half and the left piece (when viewed from 3 block away in a mirror) to be mounted to the roof with drywall screws.
Hope this helps!!!
Steve...

Yes this highly advanced tech thread needs to get back on track!!
Anyone try out the Tornado cat-back yet???
I heard that if you use a Tornado cat-back in conjunction with the Tornado intake thingy the car could flip over due to the hellacious swirling air generated by both mods!!!

I hear the tornado causes spark plugs to explode, particularly ones in the number 6 cylinder for some odd reason, accompanied by blown head gaskets..... it would sure suck if all that happened..... :p :D

Crap... ok you've busted me! Yes the Tornado was the key to me hitting 11.9s with just Bolt-Ons. Don't tell anyone else ok. :p

I wish some of yall would be serious sometimes. I really think Chud is looking for some help here.

Do a search on eBay for "electric supercharger". If you run a single outlet catback then you can have your exhaust guy run the electric supercharger right near the tailpipe. You want it far enough downstream of your manifolds that the exhaust will have cooled off some so you don't melt it. The electric supercharger will in effect become an electric "supersucker" and help scavenge your combustion chamber more completely. This is better than any aftermarket catback setup and a buddy of mine gained close to 113 rwhp with just this mod.
James

James can the electric supercharger be combined with a Tornado air thingy for some additional scavenging?
Also storing a 3.5" floppy disk in the console is wirth 45rwhp when used with a stainless exhaust system.

also wash your car with brake fluid, its great for cleaning off whatever is on the body, i noticed a good weight reduction with it

I added 2 civic Type R headers, one for the front and back, the Mopar SRT-4 catback, with 6 6" greddy exhaust tips. That combined with the tornadoe fuel saver, Z-Max fuel treatment, and my whistle tips (1 for each exhast tip) gave me a 952.96 RWHP, and 23.52 ft lbs of torque. (baseline 23.1RWHP, 2.6 RWTQ. This setup isnt cheap though, cost me 90G's, but now I'm able to hang with SI's and Type R's. :worship:

One word: STICKERS. That's all you need.

BRETTINATOR
03-22-2004, 07:51 PM
On a serious note the Wal-Mart Deer Whistler mounted on your front ummmm...bumper?...ok nose clip...well those are good for at least 13.7rwhp due to the sub-sonic sound -.087 hi-D note tone which tricks the oscillation cycle of the PCM fuel timing sequence to advance prior WOT (wide open throttle) thus increasing rhwp....and stuff:rolleyes:

Oh yeah, by the way there is no such catback exhaust system that will give you 100rwhp :drive:

you know, on the subject of the tornado catback in conjunction with the tornado intake thing, i heard that if you use them both, and you are lucky enough for the entire car to start spining, it will automatically give you 6.7 secs in teh 1/4, it makes the car "corkscrew" through the air...
