yeah... its finaly here, hood scoops. sorry for the crappy quality.
http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=587
Also it says, if you can make it out, its getting dual side exhaust, and the Monaro is getting the GTO spec fuel tank, which apparently had restricted the dual sided exhaust, and now the monaro will have the dual sided exhaust too.
Anyone gunna trade in their cars? It looks alright, but not what I was expecting.

notice that got in the pic has no rear spoiler?
Why the hell do aussies rate the engines electrically, that is just stupid.
Hard to tell much else by the pic, but it looks like they took the front foot off of a ram air hood and squished it out :dunno:
I have had a hard time trying to figure out what kind of hood would look good on that car.
If you went NACA it would be copying the aftermarket grand prix, then you have something like the SCT on the grand am, but then again...
:dunno: I saw where one guy had dropped his hood of to a metal shop and is having some modification done:confused:
I hope they make it fuctional at least....

rate the engine electronicly? kW is just another way of rating power. kW doesnt mean electrical power! It does, but it can also be used to show how much work is done, thats all. HP is derived from Toruqe and RPM. Newton meters doesnt transfer to horespower, it gets you kilowatts.

Cool. Hopefully, it will have a version of the LS2.

It still is a stupid way to measure an auto.

well, like everything else, the US is one of the very few that does the HP/LbsFt raitings.

Yes and it sucks:rolleyes:
looks better
I like the spoiler less rear end of it, looks A LOT better IMHO and I like the hood scoops. They should also incorporate the recessed grills from the SEMA auto-x GTO. With those modifications including the new rear dual exhaust outlet it will probably appeal to more of us who want to buy one, but can't justify spending 34k on a blah car.

Maybe it looks better in person.

I don't think the GTO needs a sunroof IMO. Make it a hardtop and a vert. Sunroofs are useless. If you want open air, get t-tops or a convertible.

Why am I a moron. My electric bill is billed in killowats. Isn't that what a KW is ?
You actually get billed in killowatt hours, which is the proper measurement for power over time.
A kilowatt (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?r=2&q=kilowatt) is just 1,000 watts (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=watt) which is just a generic measurement of power.
You could just as easly have your electric bill measured in horsepower hours. Just adjust the billing scales and it would be all the same.
Didn't you learn this in highschool science class?

I realize that. How the hell could you measure power usage in horspower hours. Horsepower is a calculation based upon torque (something that actually can be measured)?
I am not getting into a pissing contest over it, was only inquring why?

Horsepower and watts are just two different scales of measuring the same thing.
Horsepower is an instantaneous measurement. It's how much power is being put out or consumed at a given point in time. Same thing with wattage. It's the ammount of power being generated or consumed at a given point of time.
It's like speed. You're going 55 miles per hour at any given point in time. The distance you go depends on how long you travel at that speed. You can measure it in miles per hour or kilometers per hour. The speed you are going is the same no matter what scale you measure it. Same thing with horsepower and watts.
Electricity is just a form of energy, just like motion, sound, heat and everything else. The total rate of energy production (or consumption) has to be measurable by any scale. Horsepower, watts, joules/second, they are all interchangable.
Go to http://www.onlineconversion.com/ to see the scads of different measurements for just power, not to mention everything else.
Go look at your electric bill. It'll be measured in kWh, or kilowatt hours. It's the total ammount of energy you consumed in one month. But there's no reason they couldn't have measured it in Horsepower-hours, joules, BTUs or even calories.

1 watt = 1 joule per second.

I do corporate accounting typically for companies ranging from 35 to 250 million a year in revenue. I have handled everything from basic bookeeping to high level GAAP compliance, corporate aquisition, internal/external audit compliace, corporate income tax and ERP system implementation. Not exaclty a "tard"
I never took interest in science, so I don't have a lot of knowledge regarding. Only the basics, like torque, leverage ect.
I am certianly not like one of my best friends who :Owned: Quantum Physics (whatever the fuck that is) and the like. He is an engineer with NOAH and works on satelite systems and shit..
What I don't get is why the detail boy at Blue Dolphin car wash is calling me out:eek: :2guns:

I'm calling you out cause your posts are so ignorant it offends me. I also quit my job at the car wash 9 years ago to the join the Marine Corps and have been to places that aren't even on the map anymore, while you have been counting other poeples money and jerking off to nick at night re runs in your mothers basement.:2guns:
