found this in another post....

TR55 are .055 gapped and I believe TR5s are .035 gapped... but both are stock heat range
TR6 are .035 gapped and 1 heat range colder than stock (TR5/TR55)

what is the difference between a TR55 .055 gap and a TR5 .035 gap far as performance?

i believe stock gap calls for .060 gap. the more hp (mods) you make.... the smaller the gap you can use. i forget the rule of thumb...... something like .005 less gap for every 20 more hp you gain or something like that. don't quote those number because i can't remember off the top of my head....... hopefully some one else will post up.

ya, i dont remember the exact rule off hand but im sure your close. most people with tr55's gap theres in the .050-.055 range. with my mods i gapped mine at .055 and havent had any problems.

.004 /50 RWHP

Also, I think the plug gap is something to discuss. The TR55 is stock gapped at .055 for our cars. .059 was the stock gap on the OEM plugs. If you have 55s you should be .055 on gap for a stock car. As you increase in HP, you reduce the gap .004 for every 50 HP. I don't think you want to open the 55s up to .059 as a stock setup. Wouldn't it be correct to set the 55s at .055 as the stock setup?

I'm running the TR55s with a .050 gap and have no trouble at all. :)
