There are very few of you out there, but it is a very nice color. Normal maroon in the normal light, but a brighter metallic hue in the sun. Gorgeous!

This is a 2000 MMM Z28 that I bought new, unfortunately it met an untimely demise when it got stolen and stripped last year :( I've always wondered why Chevy never made an SS this color. I've always liked maroon, I've always thought it was a classy color, much more so than plain old red. This car's predecessor was a maroon 94 Z28 M6 (although they called it "medium patriot red" back in those days). I've since replaced it with an SOM SS, but I still miss this car.

Here's the original YankeeZ

Poor Yankee, I think it's time to let go. Your Orange SS is so much nicer. :p

I use to have a LT1 in that color :(, slow but atleast it looked good. I think some chrome z06s or TT2s would set your car off trouble...

Hello, I'm new to this board, and the proud owner of a 2002 Tom Henry Monterey Maroon Red SS Camaro.

I would attach a picture, but I don't know how to do that yet. If you want to see my pictures, I've inclosed this web address.

Your right there are not very many of our cars out there, but they do look nice.

Im glad someone finally started a MMM thread, here in the Dallas area I never see another Z28 in this color, just V6's - let alone an SS ( 380SS, bad ass ride you have there).

I'd post pics of mine but I have too many things happening to it at this moment. I have a 2001 thats having an oem SS spoiler and hood painted factrory color, lots of engine work/polishing etc and Fikse's going on in the next month or so - I'll post pics when all is done.

We'd love to see the pics when you get it done. Want to warn you on paint matching. Mine started life as a Z, and GMMG did the SS Conversion. My spoiler doesn't match well. The Met. paint is tough to match. I'm looking into get my whole car sprayed to get everything to match right. Plus that will get rid of the massive amount of Orange Peal effect too. Good luck.

380SS,

Sorry to hear about the color match on your TH, in looking at the pictures the car looks terriffic. However, I fully expect the color to be difficult to match - hopefully computer matching the color will help.

I just got off the phone with the dealership and Im scheduled for the 17th, in and out the door in 3-4 days according to the painter. So we will soon see how well it turns out.

Andy

Just looking at it, an untrained eye can't really tell. If the sun hits it wrong, it's night and day. Make sure you talk to the painter about getting rid of the orange peel effect too. They can do it, but might not if you don't ask. Let's see those pics when you get-er done

If he takes care of the orange peel on the hood and spoiler, the car will look out of balance :help:, J/K.

I'll post back when all is done, just waiting on the powdercoater and a few hose clamps and I can start putting her back together. Paint on the 17th and reassembly of body panels on the 21st.

I'm anxious to finish this up.... Talk to you soon

ok, the hood is installed and the color match is perfect. Still waiting on the spoiler to be finished.

Well the 2nd painter finally finished cleaning up the 1st painters work. No orange peel at all, every piece has a mirror finish (i.e top and underside of hood and spoiler). Seems the spoiler was the most difficult part due to the 2 piece design (seam).

Also got the Goodyear GS-D3's mounted to the Fikses on Friday (not on the car yet), they look awesome though. Hope to post some pics here soon if the rain ever stops.
