Maybe I should just :google: it, but here goes.
--------------------------------
Do the new ('05) SSR's ALL have the LS2 motor? Or is it a different 6.0L?
--------------------------------
The reason I'm asking is a dealer had one (of TWO) on the showroom floor with the 6.0L in it (2005) but it said 390HP 6.0L on the window sticker.
Maybe it's got an LS2 with a different exhaust from a C6? :dunno: Isn't the C6 rated @ 400HP? Do they underrate the SSR out of respect for the vette?
Really cool looking car, inside and out, but i'm pretty sure i'd have to be a mega millionare lottery winner before I could justify spending $47K on something as unpractical as that.

The 05 SSR has the LS2. Its sort of like the 98 - 02 f-bodies and 04 GTO. They all had the LS1 but different hp ratings than the Vette. Of course, the rating as BS and I wouldn't be surprised if the LS2 in the SSR puts out about the same rwhp as the C6 Vette.

The SSR is still a slug with the LS2 in it. Drove one at the Autoshow in Motion....really disappointing

I have a 2005 SSR 6 Speed and really think you need the 6 speed with the LS2 to keep it i the rpm's that the engine loves. A slug it is not even at 4750 ponds it will do 0-60 in 5.29 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 13.89 at 101 (gm ratings). It will be interesting when I start the buildup, right now it surprises alot of vehicles out there. It gets great traction with the 5 link rear, 14 bolt, 9.5" ring gear and eaton locker.

The LS2 engine is the same between the C6 - GTO - SSR, they rate them at different rpm's. It is all about marketing, the Corvette is and always will be the biggest dog in the fight for GM when it comes to performance. The computer has alot of torque management built in with the auto as compared to the 6 speed. Remember that the factory rateing is a starting point that you begin from, the LS1 wasnt a rocket ship out the box either. The LS2 is evolution to the LS1 and LS6 while the new LS7 will have alot of differences. We will all benefit from the development put into the Corvette, the LS2 is essentially a mini C5R and LS6 combined. I am just glad to be here for the Horse Power Wars!

Put a set of 4.56 gears in this vehicle and it becomes the car it should have been from the factory.

4.56 might be a little much, but I have a set of 4.10's that were in my ssr (for sale), and they definitly made it better all the way around!
