Minimal. To take full advantage you'd need to also port the runners(siamese) or just get some better flowing runners like the slp model. Also some porting on the lower intake would be to your advantage. You prolly would see very little in hp gain, but most people have said something about a noticeable boost in trap speed from some porting work. Hope that helps. Check on Thirdgen.Org for more info

it's one of those do it just because it'll make you feel better knowing it's done thing. save you money and get either a LT1 intake or the holley stealthram. i've done just about all scenarios on my 86TA i used to have. i siamesed the stock base with stock runners. did the completely siamesed SLP runners with edelbrock base. then the HSR. HSR bested all of the scenarios.

I'd check into putting my effort into more cubes and a different intake manifold honestly.

and on a holley stelthram.. puttin that on a 305 aint a good idea... it takes away low end tq thats y they recomend puttin that on a 350:)

whos says it ain't a good idea? it'll be better than any of the other scenarios. putting a cam in to compliment it will take cars of any low end problems anyone thinks they might have with a HSR.

when i swapped from my 86 TA stock manifolds, no cat, and stock exhaust to edelbrock tes 6872 headers, catco 6007 3" cat, and flomaster 17151 catback, i gained 34 peak hp and 21 peak tq. gained .7 and 4.5 mph in the 1/4 mile. here's the dyno

You will gain very little if anything. That tpi will flow more than enough for your 305. If you are going to continue to mod your car and are looking to drop in a 350 or bigger later get the headers and exhaust. You will gain quite a bit and you can grow into it later. 1 5/8 shorties and a good 3in cat back will work best for what you got. If you are going the 350 or bigger route later get 1 3/4s or better yet full lengths with a 4in mufflex catback. You will lose a little bottom end but you will only have to spend the money one time.
