I have the jeggs torque arm that comes with a plate that mounts up in the tunnel and the arm bolts up to. My car has hotchkiss springs giving it about a 1 1/2 inch drop. So the clearance in the tunnel is a little tighter. For awhile now my car has been extra loud, clunky, & whatever noises our cars are supposed to be making after a couple of years. I got annoyed, stocked up on dynamat and started to go to work. I pulled up the carpet and was shocked to find a break/tear in the tunnel about 9 inches long. The torque arm had pushed itself through the damn sheet metal. I think this might explain where some of my extra noise is coming from:rolleyes: Anyway, the torque arm mounts at the back and the front had bent pushing the arm up through the car. I can remeber when the noise started to get real bad, and I remember what dealership had it doing warranty work when it got bad. Now time to break out a welder and a new torque arm. Anyway, even if some guys at a dealership did this. My car only has 368 torque & 347 hp, That should not be bending a torque arm, so point being, I'm pissed and stay away from jegg's torque arm!;)

Ouch dude...that sucks. I take it that is one that mounts to the cross brace instead of the tranny?

That's what I figured...I'm currently looking into doing the Yank cross member...doesn't really seem like there is any one good solution to the torque arm problem.

I guess you will spend the extra $70 bucks next time and get a Random or BMR ;)

Man... I'd have words with Jeg's if I were in your shoes.

I'm looking at the sphon TA. Looks like a good fit for us with long tubes and I don't think what happened to you is possible with this TA.

yeah i spent the $$ on the random.. then it slid out of the mount and back some, pulled the driveshaft with it.. byebye tranny.

I now have a spohn (tunnel mount) also.. no track time or anything yet, it seems much safer though.

I ordered a the spohn a little over a week ago, I'm still waiting on it, but it should do just fine. Atleast better than the jeggs. Hey so does anyone on here want to buy a Jeg's Torqu arm slightly used?

:wall: ;)
