View Full Version : Please help, headlamps open & close

when I arm or un arm the alarm. This is so embarassing because it makes a grinding noise (like a plastic gear grinding) when the headlights go down. Other than that the headlamps function fine. I know someone else must know something about this. Thanks

A stripped gear wouldn't make the headlamps raise and lower again when I arm or disarm the alarm.
yes it does, as the GM engineers designed it, so whenever it gets a parking light pulse, it checks the status of the motor, the stripped gear, is a lowcurrent draw, so it thinks the motors are not down, so it sends them up, and back down.
i can 99.99999999% guarantee with new gears, the 180 mod, or a new motor, you will not have any "ghosting" or other weird side effects from the stripped gears :)
