Shift kit question

I have a B&M shift kit, it works well, I just have a question. When I first got it, the 1st to 2nd shift was really hard. It is still firm, but it feels softer than before, the car will still bark the tires on part throttle shifts. Do shift kits soften up? Should I be worried that the trans is weakening?

Check the fluid and make SURE it is full. If it continues, then drop the pan and check the filter. Stuff in it? Thats the first sign.

I sprayed though shifts for a year and a half buy eventually needed new, "beefier", tranny parts :p

Fluid level is good, trans feels strong on the W.O.T. 1-2 & 2-3 shifts. If just feels a little different at slower speeds...
