than comp 918's on a .550-.600 lift cams? how many miles do you think they'd last?

dual springs will last longer.
how much longer depends on how you drive...

Just don't abuse them, let the car warm up and follow your shop's advice on how often to change them...

How long a spring lasts depends on:

Lift
Duration
ramp rates
driving style
what RPM is seen and how often

things like that. It's very hard to guesstimate IMHO a spring life.

:werd:

but say with a TR224 and come crane duals you can expect longevity. i've heard of guys with T1/B1 cams and 918's getting 50k miles on them through daily driving.

The reason I went with duals was for longer spring life.:)

Also don't forget there is always a chance that one of the spings can break and if you turn the car off quick enough do no more damage then just the spring.

the duals are more durable, on a came like the tr224, or t1 they probably would last forever but if you go bigger ie. t-rex,m2 or g5x2,3 then they probably are gonna wear out way quicker!;)

I'm pretty sure crane or comp duals will last for 20K miles on anything lower than 0.600 lift....

I got owned by the Comp 918 Springs. They cost me $12K and they offered my a new set. It was complete BS.

I had to buy an entire new engine, block, pistons, rods, even my intake manifold was trash. The springs didn't last longer than 1K miles.

Now I have the dual coil titanium springs, so they should be okay on my cam.

and, you said a cam lift of .550 to .600... thats a huge difference man... lol.

makes me think that maybe i need to at the least inspect my 918's if not change them out:(

I have put about 14K miles on my car since I had my cam installed (August 2003) along with blue striped 918's and I have not had a problem yet. My cam has a .571/.577 lift and it has held up just fine so far.

were yours the non-blue stripes as well? I wish manley would come out with a conical designed spring. The 918 has the better design but that bad batch they had tarnished there image. also what cam were you running with them and at what rpm did they give way at?

what is the part # for the new LS1 dual springs that fit the stock head i think they are the new conical design also?
