Would you rebuild an old V6

I have an Astro van that has 260k miles on it. Run good, but idles rough and smokes briefly after startup? Runs very smooth at normal speeds with no smoke. Some schools of thought say never rebuild an engine that has that many miles on it.

I am debating getting the V6 rebuilt or just getting another crate engine.

Any thoughts?
