is this stuff abrasive? or does it just fill in the scratches? Reason i'm asking is b/c i used it on my hood tonight to see if it'd help w/ my swirl marks and it seemed to have made a pretty big difference.

If it is the ScratchX, I have used it as well. I found it to be very gentle and it made the small clear coat scratches I have disappear. I'm not sure if it just covers them up or removes them, but it worked really well and didn't leave more scratches than it removed.

yes it was scratch X and damn did it do the trick:D
I applied it to the swirled area 1 time then applied it to the whole hood the second go around w/ my Random Orbit. buffer ... buffed it off then put some mirro glaze meguiars show car polish on there (i left my zaino at school:mad: ). and it looks great! ... the swirl marks are undetectable under flourescent lighting so they pretty much gone!

I bought some today to put on a few light scratches on my tallight center panel. It didn't seem to remove any scratches. Do I need to use a buffer, more elbow grease, or am I trying it on the wrong type of scratch. The scratches are not even fingernail deep.

no i've gotten it to work by hand many times .... jus rub it into a small area for about 30 seconds, then let it dry and wipe it off

Do be afraid to use moderate pressure; it's not going to scratch it if you rub as hard as you can.
