I have a 99 Z28 and I bought the Best Kits BKGM8 that was recommended and I don't know if I'm smoking crack or what, but there is no damn way in the world that fits where the old radio was. It seems that the holes are offset about 1/4-1/2 inch where you would put the 7mm bolts back. I can always drill and extra hole to make it fit, but this makes me think I'm doing something wrong. Anyone else have a bitch of a time with this kit in their Camaro?

I have ZERO car electronic experience, but I was able to get the new HU working with a wiring harness and had no problem, I just can't mount it without having to drill into the mounting bracket. I would assume this isn't normal...

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! :D

did you remove the picec of plastic that sticks up in the dash, because with that still there, mine wouldnt fit either. After i "modified" it, and by modified i mean broke off, it fit perfectly.

So to answer your question, no you shouldnt have to drill it, and im sorry that i cant better describe what im talking about on here. If you want, you can PM and i can try to help more with some pics or something.

Thanks for the reply :)

I broke off all of the plastic tabs that weren't being used, but with both sides of it flush against the mount, the holes just refused to line up.

The place I got it from let me exchange the kit for a Metra which went right in and had no issues. Not a big deal. It was just frustrating to drive with no radio for a couple days

Think ya mixed up something. I have sold tons of those kits for that application with ZERO problems. And when I mean sold, I mean I work at AAMP and might have even sold that kid to the place where u bought it! Oh well, u shouldn't have had aprob though.
