its so you can override the computer and turn your cooling fans on when your sitting in traffic or something and keep the temp down. flip the switch to the left and the low fan comes on, flip it to the right and the high fan comes on, leave it in the middle and goes by the computer. this will really come in handy if you live somewhere where it is hot and you hit a lot of traffic like i do:yup:

the instructions i used: http://users.oco.net/xero/fanmod/

That is nice. I actually think if you cycle the AC, the fan will automatically go on too. ;)

Ahhh but you can't cycle the A/C at the track. ;)

I do, but only keep it on for a few minutes at a time. The reason they don't allow it is because it will start to "sweat" and drip, if it' snot on for very long, it won't do it. I combine it and shutting off my car while in line to keep temps where I want them.

But you're right, it is against the rules.

for OBD-1 LT1's

OBD-2 is same as the ls1 :)

But question for any electronics savy people who bought this switch, how do they prevent the ses light on the high setting, with this switch? if it just taps into the wire, then it can't provide a real ground. (i have build some using a 47 ohm 2 watt resistor, as found on the makoto fan switch) but that method drives the factory fan relays at 10 volts not 12-12 like they are designed to run.

I like my switch :) It uses the slp style electronics, so it gets a real ground, plug and play packard connecors, and a NX style switch panel. My switch is lighted, so i know when I turn it on (not the computer)

Ryan. <-- probaly the only person who bought a new slp switch, and took it apart within 2 minutes of owning it, lol :)
