I think the story goes that purple was supposed to be a longer run color, but problems with the paint or the application of it, or something caused GM to drop it. The color that replaced purple was Navy Blue Metallic. So those of you NBM people should be grateful that purple was dropped! :D

There is a guy in town that has a purple Formula WS6 supposedly.

I saw the car once and tried to catch up to it, but I was in my truck :brick: I do not know if it was factory or a WS6 conversion, but it had the hood/wheels/badge. Didn't get a good look at the exhaust, but seems to me a lot of 98 owners changed it anyway.

I still keep an eye out for him though. It is a sweet car irregardless.

If I'm not mistaken, he bought Matt 98 Formula's car, and Matt swapped the tail lights to the LT1 style because he didn't like the honeycomb pattern.

Personally, I think the honeycomb lights are what belongs on a LS1.

I doubt the paint will be costly, just make sure to shop around. I believe they also had the color on S10 Blazers for example.

lt1 hawk hoods were the same from 93-97ish

I have seen some 97 hawks with a ws6 hood and some with a firehawk hood,

If you look closely at the nostils on the ws6 hood it varies from the hawk hood,

It's not a Firehawk-style hood, it's a Raptor hood. Quite a bit of difference between them. At a glance they look really similar, but the Firehawk hood has a much lower profile, and smaller "nostrils".

I remember there was a guy on LS1.COM a long time ago named TimSnake or something like that who owned a purple WS6. There was some guy who was a salesman at a GM dealer and logged on there and started spouting all kinds of cocky shit... and he was saying there was "no such thing" as a purple WS6.

I remember the guy that owned this one posting up pics of it... and someone posting the window sticker showing "88U Bright Purple Metallic" as the color.

Here is my TA which is NOT currently FOR SALE..Im lo0oking to see if other TA lovers can tell me how many were produced with this color and options.

"Katie" was born on 12/94 and is dressed in the ultra-RARE....Cyclamen Metalic....(there were only 54 total TA's for 1995 in this color).....hardtops and convertibles combined, and seeing as it has the white leather and top and 6-speed ..I would like to say Katie is probably maybe 1 of 15-25 and with these options is 1 of 1.....Katie is powered by the 5.7 350 LT1 enhanced by a GM LT1 hot cam, GM 1.6 roller rockers and she also has the "convertible only"...WHITE leather....and she is also equipped with a 6-speed. She is very quiet.....(mmmm....quiet.....ya right...) when your nice to her....but when you make her mad she rumbles via the SLP Loudmouth setup. She handles and drives like a due to larger front and rear swaybars and the low mileage....30K miles. Katie has been garaged all of her life (paint is in excellent shape..and the interior is MINT).....and is a "weekend cruiser" only. Katie is equipped with all the Trans Am options including power attenna, along with these extras.

Here is my TA which is NOT currently FOR SALE..Im lo0oking to see if other TA lovers can tell me how many were produced with this color and options.

"Katie" was born on 12/94 and is dressed in the ultra-RARE....Cyclamen Metalic....(there were only 54 total TA's for 1995 in this color).....hardtops and convertibles combined, and seeing as it has the white leather and top and 6-speed ..I would like to say Katie is probably maybe 1 of 15-25 and with these options is 1 of 1.....Katie is powered by the 5.7 350 LT1 enhanced by a GM LT1 hot cam, GM 1.6 roller rockers and she also has the "convertible only"...WHITE leather....and she is also equipped with a 6-speed. She is very quiet.....(mmmm....quiet.....ya right...) when your nice to her....but when you make her mad she rumbles via the SLP Loudmouth setup. She handles and drives like a due to larger front and rear swaybars and the low mileage....30K miles. Katie has been garaged all of her life (paint is in excellent shape..and the interior is MINT).....and is a "weekend cruiser" only. Katie is equipped with all the Trans Am options including power attenna, along with these extras.

Purple/White leather/White Top (RARE Color Combo)
White 25th Anniversary Stripe Package (doors and rear..front bird also but not pictured)
K & N Filter
Electric water pump
White face gauge package
Hurst 6-speed complete with white shift knob
SLP skip shift eliminator

My car is probably at the dragstrip more than anywhere else. That was the main reason I bought the car.

awesome guys. I love LS1 Formulas (my fav or 4th gens) and the purple looks really good on these cars. Even thought alot of people dont care for purple...I'd drive these in a heart beat!
