I was surfing the web when a call came in today. GM was calling to see how I liked my new GTO. I gave them my honest opinion (it's great overall but lacking in a few minor areas).

When he asked me what I would like to have seen in the GTO (i.e. what they should be working on), I was able to give them quite the list.

Even though I don't want them, I told them it needs optional hood scoops. I asked for more options overall, a bigger trunk with a passthrough, dead pedal, more power, dual exiting exhausts, 18" wheels, sunroof, and several other things. I don't remember the whole list but there were well over a dozen in all. I did remember to ask for several things that I don't want but I know people here have been asking for or complaining about. (XM radio, Onstar, "body kits" or more aggressive styling, etc.)

So even though I'm ambivalent about many of the complaints I hear on this board, I know GM takes the opinion of buyers a lot more seriously than it does places like this so I put in y'alls $0.02, knowing that some people are going to base their purchase decision on what comes out on the new models. And I want to see this car more accepted by the masses so it continues on well past 2007 when the contract with Holden expires.

Interesting I wonder if GM will call me? I would tell them that I want a magic wand that will turn my A4 into an M6, but thats my damn fault.

Seriously I can't think of anything to improve, but more horsepower is always nice

whoa... thats cool.
Yeah, I would also give a large list. You can never have too much power. As much as I like the car, I still would like to see more and more people like it too so that the RWD coupe will come back with a vengence. Sometimes I wish the coupe market was like the truck/suv market. GM would have to make the bird, camaro, gto, chevelle, and a regal!!
Anyway, its good to see GM checking up on you guys.

The only reason the truck/suv market exist today is becuase of the exemption from cafe ratings. First this should tell you how government regulation interefers with free market consumer choice and second how inconsistant our laws/regulations are.

Why should the automatic gto get a gas guzzler tax of $1,000 while a Ford Expiditon, which gets far worse mileage does not?

I am very against this tax but you see the discrepancy
