View Full Version : My GTO
This car is fantastic. I've had it for several weeks and no complaints. Some may not like the style but once they get in and drive it, they should be all smiles. :drive:

damn nice bud!
test drove an impulse blue friday. It was an auto but had high gears and drove real nice. Best sounding stock gen III exhaust. Nice seats. Very nice overall, although I dont love the body style enough to spend 33k.

The styling isn't for everyone. I like the understated looks myself. While I wanted an IROC Z when I was in high school, I've gotten to the point where the F-Body was too over the top for me to own one. Still, it's a cool car. I may buy a used 98-02 in a few years and turn it into a badass drag car.
:drive:
I dont not like it bc I like boring cars (look at my Z). But it just doesnt scream buy me like I hoped it would.

Ah the fond memories. Cruising with my bud in his IROC, playing Night Ranger, mullets flowing with the wind coming through the t-tops.
Those days are gone forever... :(
... but the future's so bright, I gotta wear shades.

Oh, I cut off my mullet many many years ago. But back then, when the 3rd gens were still rolling off the assembly line...

You know whats funny, I told my dad about the mullet moniker thats been put on the third gens, and he gave me an :umm: and he said he NEVER saw a red neck in a third gen, and neither have I. My dad bought the 87 Z28 I have now brand new back in 87, and for just under 17k(in 80's bucks), it wasnt for any red necks.
:2guns: stupid red neck moniker

Were I grew up (LI NY) IROCs were driven by guidos with Itailian horn chains and Z. Cavaricchi (sp) pants and BUM equipment shirts, usually listening to Rump Shaker by Rex N' Effects or Ice Ice Baby how's that for an 80's Flashback

I miss my IROC. Mine was bright red but I always wanted a yellow or silver one.

Well the ones people might know are Asbury Park(Bruce Springsten), Freehold, Red Bank(Jay and Silent Bob!!), and im about 20 mins north of Seaside Hights where MTV has that summer house thing, and a few other towns. Thoes are all the famous areas. If anyone saw Dogma, the begining of the movie when they are on that beach and thoes 2 skater guys kill that hobo... I used to have football beach practice right there. And the Church where Geroge Carlin speaks... thats right down the road from where I took the GTO pics in the other thread. Its also a school where all the slutty girls go. :D
and as for the exit comment(which isnt funny:no: .... depends on what direction off the Parkway you are on. North bound, Im exit 100A. South, you can take 105, 102, 100b.

Most dislikes are the styling and use of the name, but I have not heard any negative comments regarding the performance, except for the C&D morons on tv and they guys expecting it to hang with a Z06:rolleyes:
