12 bolt ?'s

i have a friend with a 98 LS1 A4 with hooker LT's, SLP Y, cutout, and a 3200 stall and he's looking to get a 12 bolt w/posi and 3.73's next month. what brand do you think he should go with? is there a difference between the brands? it's his dd and will see occasional track use.

i think the moser vs strange debate is kinda 50/50 ... you'll find people that love strange and hate moser and vice versa...

I've got a moser 12 bolt in my car w/3.73s , TCS, ABS, POSI and it whines a little but hardly noticable over the exhaust..

Price wise they're both about the same...

Well, the Moser comes "some assembly required," whereas the Strange is a "plug and play" type of unit. I've heard gripes about both companies, but it seems as if Moser is getting better over time.

Either way, I don't think you can lose...I would just suggest going through a good vendor that has good relations with either company. That way, if you have problems, you have someone in your corner that can make the problems go away much more quickly than you could by yourself. Vendors usually have good pull with these companies...

There are two of us here locally that both run moser 12 bolts. No problems with them at all.

Either brand is fine (Moser or Strange). I personally prefer Moser, but that doesn't mean one is better than the other. Like was already mentioned, try to use a vendor that moves a lot of whichever product you choose. It can be helpful if a problem comes up and plus it will make ordering a little easier.

I agree...either moser or strange will get the job done. The strange comes complete even with fluid. You do have to have a new propeller pressed in your driveshaft for the strange. The moser requires a little more small stuff but either will work great. :)
