how hard would it be to do it? what all would i need? would it be worth work? i have a 98 V6 camaro. i own another 87 firebird that i am selling for mod money for the maro.
i know i will need to modify the intake, the exhaust headers, and i will need a custom ECM chip. what else will i have to do? would twin turbos be better?

also i dont really have the money to spend on a $3k kit, so i want to just find a turbo to buy by itself. like one off a grand national. and do the rest myself.

You'll need a Turbo built for your own specs
Intercooler same thing
Blow Off Valve
Wastegate
Intake and exhaust piping
brackets for the turbo, intercooler and fmu
fuel management unit
Hoses, connectors and clamps
Oil feed and return lines
Fuel pump

I prolly left out a few things. You're looking at $2k+ for parts alone. If you are serious about doing a turbo kit system, pick up "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell before you do anything.

Good luck with the under $3k thing. Basically impossible unless you can do all the labor yourself..... :(

talk to Teufel Hunden (sp?) on the board here. He has a rather impressive setup that seems to run reliably.
