View Full Version : Nitrous will hit, but then studder....

I will hit nitrous at about 3k in 3rd gear and then about like 4800 it will studder, then spray fine again till I shift, then when I shift into 4th its like I will be going WOT and yet the car feels like its just spinning and the car revs quickly and then it does that all the way through 4th. WTF?!

As far as the studder I would A-tap it and see what the 02's are saying. What you experiencing in fourth almost sounds like the clutch is slipping.

Damnit, I knew I would need a new clutch, but not before the heads/cam/gears. I thought the stock 50k mile clutch would last. :mad:

It sounds dumb, but did you check the obvious?? Full bottle?

Yea it had like 3 lbs in it at the time. And was at 850-900psi.

I am willing to bet on something though. The O2 sensors need to be replaced because soon after I started spraying it threw a PO420 code. Which is what it is always throwing. Tommarow if its nice out I will fill my bottle completly and get new O2's and fuel filter(Fram already bought) and change the oil Mobil 1 SynTec fully synthetic and AC Delco Oil Filter.

Its supposed to be around high 50's low 60's overcast. Let us know what you find out.

3lbs is not a lot of nitrous. I would try making a pass with a full bottle and about 1050 psi and see what happens.

Yet one more thing to check if the other's sugguestion's didn't help...

Get your car on a dyno with wideband AF. If it's running lean, the car will be pulling timing (b/c of knock retard) like crazy all the way up the powerband. It will sorta feel like a studder..

Well tonight I got my first nitrous backfire. Dont know why. The scew nut for the the nitrous shark shot out, along with the air sensor.:(

Oh also my clutch it gone :( :mad: :cool:

Time for a spec stage 2.:2guns: :drive:
