Who here would be a lot more excited about the GTO if it had dual exhaust out the back? I know it has duals, but they comeback together.
The grand prix styling in the front is really bad, but the fact that it doesn't have 2 out the back is just unacceptable..

so the only thing holding you back from liking this car is that the dual pipes exit on the same side?!?!?!
oh I give up.

Who keeps stock exhaust? That's like not buying a car b/c you like everything but the rims....
Go buy some foreign POS 4 cylinder with pipes that come out both sides:rolleyes:

i don't think the gto is that bad...only shit i don't like is people WILL mistake it for a grand prix, so no1 will know the power just by looking at it, compared to my ws6 where can see the aggressiveness

at least this car has true duals that sound good stock, unlike another certain LS1 powerd 2+2 sports coupe.

Yes it is. The car is a perfect sleeper car though.
I wouldn't normally have a big deal about the exhaust, but there is a hole in the bumper for it. I imagine it will be PITA to replace.
I shouldn't of say like it. I should of said made it a D instead of a F.

Oh how soon everybody forgets the year that the f-body came with only a single exhaust outlet...

Who cares about the exhaust?
It should have better styling, less weight and a lower price!;)

ditto. Who gives a crap. The 98 WS6 had a single outlet and a good portion of those buyers dumped it anyway.
No car is perfect..

Or at the very least say something that hasn't been said repeatedly for the last 6 months.

1. Get rid of the typical Pontiac front grill.
2. Put an exhaust pipe on each side of the rear.
3. Add some 18inch wheels with some good sized tires
4. Add some kind of body cladding to make it look more aggressive.
5. Add LS2 or LS6 with at least 400hp.
What does all this get you.
The perfect GTO

1,2,3, and 5 can be easily done with after market parts for realatively low cost, I dont think body clading is a very good idea

1. Every GTO ever made had a typical Pontiac front Grille.
2. That would look good but does nothing for performance.
3. The aftermarket is full of wheels and tires.
4. Rice, pure and simple. Besides, the thing already weighs too much without tacky bolt on cladding.
5. That would be cool. I've heard an LS6 is likely for next year. Don't count on the LS2 until it's been in the Vette for at least a year.
Take out 1 and 4 and you'd have a winner.
And it would make my car even more of a sleeper. :D

1. Every GTO didn't have the same Grill as a current Grand Prix, Grand Am, etc. This is what people bitch about, and why they say its a Grand Prix, Grand Am. I think the car would look better with a different grill.
2. Whether it has to do with performance or not is irrelevant. Several people complain about the exhaust, and it wouldn't be that hard for GM to fix.
3. Aftermarket is irrelevant. Everything can be obtained in the aftermarket, that has nothing to do with what GM should provide for the $33K price tag. I don't think 18 inch wheels and tires is too much to ask when you are paying $33K.
4. Bullshit. Maybe your idea of body cladding is different than mine. It doesn't have to be bolted on, maybe just change the design of the bumpers, rocker panels, etc. My point is to make the car more aggressive, I never said add tacky body cladding, I just said add something to the damn thing so it isn't so plain looking. I am sure GM could do a tasteful job with it and make it look more aggressive.
5. The LS6 would be great, but I wonder if they could mate it to an auto transmission. I am wondering if the thing doesn't make enough low end torque or what, being GM has yet to put an automatic behind this thing in the Vette. All that weight and little low end torque might not work well for the GTO. I think the LS2 would be perfect, but I am sure you are right that it won't be in anything but the Vette for awhile.

Sorry, I must have missed them, but whatever, GTO owners are very sensitve about their cars, you should have seen the shit storm I sturred up at ls1gto.com. God forbid you tell anyone overthere the goat isn't made of gold.

Are you kidding me? The GTO always shared it's grill with the current cars of the time. So it may have used a little more of the endura plastic/rubber instead of chrome but it was always unmistakably Pontiac. The GTO's grill looks a lot like a Grand Am's grill to me, just as it should. I'm betting it'll get an update for 2005 to go with the new Grand Prix and G6.
The rest is opinion and there's no sense debating opinion.

Oh, you went a few steps beyond merely pointing out that the GTO ain't perfect.
Yes, there are many "fanboys" out there and they take their pride in the GTO way too far. (I'm sure many will accuse me of that. :jerkit: ) But let's be honest. You came out and insulted people directly and deliberately.

I went to a muffler shop to get new mufflers done to it and they couldnt do it ... the stock mufflers are only 9" long and the smallest they had were 14".
I will have to wait until someone makes new mufflers for the car.
