I've got a 2000 Camaro SS, 6-speed/ Lid/Powershot/FLP LT's/ORY/Loudmouth are only engine/exhaust mods. I'm going to get professionally tuned soon. I do not plan on adding anymore hp increasing mods for several years. I am going to get professionally tuned in April. My question is will the tuning be super specific to my setup while running cats or ORY. Example, if I get tuned running cats, can I swap my off road race pipes back in and still be tuned, or will I throw the tuning off and run rich or lean. Does it really matter. I love running my ORY and have for about a year, I'm living in South Carolina so no emissions. I am in the military though and have to move every 3 years or so, therefore I need to be concerned with other states emissions/inspection laws. That is why I went with FLP's, due to their flexibility. Can someone please clarify if tuning with cats or without will matter, and if I can switch between the two without effecting my professional tuning. Thanks.:)

I wouldn't think it would make that much of a difference, the back pressure will change with the Cats off which may effect your A/F somewhat but not enough to hurt your HP significantly... which setup will you be running with the most ... tune to that setup :)

I run the FLP/ORY/Loudmouth setup all the time....so you think I should tune it with that setup, huh? That's cool, I just don't want to mess my car up with dramatic variances between rich vs. lean conditions resulting from me swapping ORY/cats. I love how it sounds now, but was thinking that I need to get tuned with cats in case I am forced to run them later. Other states can be emissions nazi's.

To "tune it right" you would want to put in an O2 bung before your cats and run a wideband. Or not cats with a sniffer/wideband.

I would discuss that with your tuner.... if you are forced to run with cats later it would only be a simple A/F adjustment that you may need so the task would be an easy one..... you just don't want to be charged another $300-500 just for a quick A/F change :)
