These are the 3 most important paragraphs, the last one being the most important:
6. If GM's contract is with the Ste Therese plant. As long as the plant is standing or unsold, GM is comitted to making the F-body at that plant!
General Motors would also be demonstrating bad faith if they made an announcement or indicated they were OFFICIALLY moving ahead with a new Camaro before all loans were paid, all CAW workers layed off were rehired (GM HAS TO ACCOMPLISH THIS NO LATER THAN 2005), and the Ste Therese plant was either sold or leveled!
Bottom line, DO NOT expect any use of the Camaro or Firebird name till these things are resolved. 2005 is the year, or at the very least, once the NEXT talks with the CAW produce a contract.
It would be nice if this could be stickied for the next year and a half till after the contract negotiations are over and done with. :)

I read that whole thread yesterday. There seriously is some intriguing things pointed out in it.
I would suggest everyone take the time to read it.

so there is still a glimmer of hope:D but 2005 is only a year away and there is no word of a concept or anything like that but i could have to do with the soon to be released C6 and they dont want new of the new fbody to overshadow it?

I think the point that's being made in the thread is that 2005 is the year we may start seeing the Camaro/Firebird name used again, not necessarily a concept or production model. Like you said, if there was a concept wearing this name, we'd probably already have heard about it. Nobody has that tight of lips.

Let me just point out, if GM was to build the Camaro/Firebird again, and they needed workers for the plant, I'd in in the line, All I want is a free Camaro, because if your on the line, your still probably making like $25-30 in hour..I'd be happy with $18-20 an hour with a free F-body!!! :)

Unless they think the next Cobra (much like the 03) will have alot more hp, and they want to beat it again, much like every year other then the 03.
I know if I was building something to kill the compatition, I'd keep it quite, and then kick ass in it!

also, the 98-2002 camaro came out one year after the c5 vette. there are alot of similarities between the vette and fbody. so i would again think that if the camaro was to come out, it would be a minimum of one year after the c6 came out, gm would probably wait a little bit longer to since they are already waiting a year for the new c6 z06 and the c06 vert. we can still pray...and send tons of emails...

Ya, but if the clamed hp rating for the base C6 is 400hp, whats the f-bod gonna be 350 now? I mean that would seem a little stupid to put the f-body on the back burner for 4 years and then come back out with it, only to add 20hp.. :jerkit:
Whats even worse of a feeling, is knowing theres Cadies running around with the Z06 engine in them (anyone see it on C&D either this week, or last) now if thats an option for a Cadie, why the hell couldnt Chevy make that 405hp an option for a SS, you'd see alot less 03 Cobra owners saying LS1-bla bla bla.. Wait but then again, the price would probably be up in the $40k's just for the 405 option..

You're definitely right about that. Thank goodness that's not what the 5th gen will look like (if it even looks like anything ;))

I'm in that forum everyday (as a lurker) looking for his posts about future vehicles. The info he gets is the best.
I wish we could sticky this thread in all forums and on other sites. There is a lot of misinformation out there about the camaro/firebird being on HIATUS. The key word here is hiatus, of course. I get sick of arguing with misinformed people about this very subject.
