Well, the time has come.. I think Ive had enough of my duals.. They were fun while they lasted, but with how much I drive, I dont think I can take the noise anymore.

Couple questions.

1. I'm thinking of going with a Hooker cat-back.. How much will my 1/4 times suffer from going to a full catback and y-pipe?

2. Right now, Im getting alot of fumes, to the point that my clothes smell like it when I get out of my car. I know some of it is because I dont have cats anymore, but will going with a full catback help with this??

you're getting fumes because the exhaust exits in front of the axle. with a catback, it will be much better, much less fumes. And while you're getting an exhaust, why not go with a good one, not the POS hooker unit. :yup: for not much more you can get a stainless steel magnaflow, or if you want some adjustability of sound level, get the borla.

Hooker catbacks suck almost as much as their LT headers :yup::clap:

The main thing I dont like about the magnaflow are the tips.. My personal opinion, I dont think they look good on TAs... with how long they are, I dont know if they can be cut off and swapped out

depending on your other mods, hence; longtubes, engine work, etc etc, your times may not suffer at all. Personally I love Borla because of the restrictor plate adjustment capability. longtubes, 3" y, no cats and open Borla have no problems flowing, dual exhaust would not serve at least my setup any faster times in the 1/4 than what I have now. I'd just check around for the best flowing catback for your setup.

yeah, or maybe it's because you have a crapload more mods than me, including a baby bottle. It's ok, I know you realize my exhaust is a much better product, you just wont ever admit it

get some cats and the fumes will most likely go away, as for losing times in ur e.t. u will probably see a tenth or 2 off a difference, (considering u keep headers on) but shouldnt be anything to drastic, you can gain them back in other places :drive:

My hooker headers seem to be doing very well than you ....:D

As far as the cat back. Thunder has found that on the dyno they are one of the best as far is not loosing hp going from an open y-pipe to a full cat back. I don't like their tips though.

oh yea....I think a borla sounds like ass with log tube headers and no cats. My borla made it about 3 miles before it was up for sale when I built my current motor.
