12 Bolt BREAK-IN PROCEDURE
Complete
axle units ship full of required lubricant. The lubricant is 2.5 Quarts of NON-synthetic
W90 Oil and 2 bottles of Limited Slip Additive from GM Part #1052358.
A new ring
and pinion installed with new bearings will initially generate higher than normal
operating temperatures. It is advisable to use whichever of the following break
in procedures matches your application.
1.
Break in: No Harsh Acceleration
2.
Drive 50 miles - Cool down 1/2 hour
3.
Repeat for total of 250 miles
4.
First Lube change at 1000 miles
5.
Remove cover, clean-out inside
6.
2 quarts gear oil (non-synthetic)
7.
1 bottle GM #1052358 additive
